Report 12th June 2013
This was emailed to me yesterday, from
Bow Waves. I like the title in particular.
"The Shannon starts
in Clifden
Most students have been taught during their school days that the Shannon starts
in Cavan.
Times have changed and in keeping with RNLI tradition of naming classes of
boats after rivers it was decided to name this one the Shannon class after
Irelands longest river.
The Shannon class lifeboat is due in Clifden for a twelve month trail and
will arrive once training of crews in the boat has been completed during the
2013 season."
