Arts Week Speaker Becky Gilmour

Talk by Becky Gilmour Adventure Athlete and Walker:
Becky Gilmour is an adventure athlete and mental health advocate. In 2025 she became the first person to skateboard the worlds longest coastal route, the Wild Atlantic Way while raising money for the Samaritans. She has also paddled almost 1000km through Ireland and ran over 100km around Dublin Spire in 24 hours.
She will present a talk about her inspiration behind her unusual adventures and overcoming adversity after she leads a litterpicking walk from Clifden Square to Clifden Sailing Club.

Becky is continuing to fund-raise and raise awareness for mental health through this year taking on board a second charity in her campaign Okuguma. This is a mental health team based out in Uganda at Kiwoko Hospital. This will also be the start for Becky’s next big mission and she will be sharing her upcoming plans for anexpedition going even bigger, out in East Africa following the Festival.
